2023 Allegiance AVX Cosmic Journey PJ10 X-Men 134 Black & White ePack PSA 9
A PSA 9 Black & White version of the A Cosmic Journey insert from 2023 Upper Deck Allegiance Avengers vs X-Men. This card was never inserted in packs. It’s an Upper Deck e-Pack achievement exclusive that collectors could only earn by combining ten digital cards and having the physical card shipped to them, so far fewer exist than the standard insert. It features John Byrne’s legendary art from Uncanny X-Men #134 (1980), the issue where Jean Grey becomes the Dark Phoenix. She floats arms outstretched against a swirling cosmic vortex as she declares “I am Phoenix!” The black and white artwork is printed on rainbow foilboard, so the whole card has a rainbow sheen when it catches the light. The back describes the X-Men fleeing in their skycraft as they realize Jean is no longer on board but floating above them: she was fire, she was life incarnate, she was Phoenix, and worst of all, she was blowing up their ship. It also notes that Byrne was inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame in 2015. A key card from one of the most famous Marvel stories ever told, and a great pickup for Dark Phoenix and Jean Grey collectors, John Byrne fans and classic X-Men collectors.
Pull Odds: Not available in packs; earned only through an Upper Deck e-Pack achievement by combining ten digital cards. (The standard A Cosmic Journey insert is 1:5 hobby and e-Pack.)
A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.
