2023 Allegiance AVX Cosmic Journey PJ16 Uncanny X-Men 471 B&W ePack PSA 9
A PSA 9 Black & White version of the A Cosmic Journey insert from 2023 Upper Deck Allegiance Avengers vs X-Men. This card was never inserted in packs. It’s an Upper Deck e-Pack achievement exclusive that collectors could only earn by combining ten digital cards and having the physical card shipped to them, so far fewer exist than the standard insert. It features Billy Tan’s art from Uncanny X-Men (1963) #471. Rachel Grey, the Phoenix mark glowing over her eye, unleashes her power with arms flung wide as glass, books and debris explode around her and a winged figure crashes in from above. The black and white artwork is printed on rainbow foilboard, so the whole card has a rainbow sheen when it catches the light. The back explains that Rachel and Psylocke teamed up to create a massive force field protecting Chicago from Black Cloak’s explosive, and that Rachel refused to be called “young Phoenix,” even though her powers were certainly comparable. It also notes that Tan’s first Marvel project was the Star Trek/X-Men crossover in 1996. A great pickup for Rachel Grey and Phoenix collectors, Psylocke fans and Allegiance set builders.
Pull Odds: Not available in packs; earned only through an Upper Deck e-Pack achievement by combining ten digital cards. (The standard A Cosmic Journey insert is 1:5 hobby and e-Pack.)
A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.
