2023 Allegiance AVX Cosmic Journey PJ3 X-Men 199 Black & White ePack PSA 10
A PSA 10 Black & White version of the A Cosmic Journey insert from 2023 Upper Deck Allegiance Avengers vs X-Men. This card was never inserted in packs. It’s an Upper Deck e-Pack achievement exclusive that collectors could only earn by combining ten digital cards and having the physical card shipped to them, so fewer exist than the standard insert. It recreates the classic Uncanny X-Men #199 (1985) “Born Again!” cover by John Romita Jr., showing Rachel Summers arms outstretched as cosmic energy bursts around her, with the Phoenix’s shadow above. The black and white artwork is printed on rainbow foilboard, so the whole card has a rainbow sheen when it catches the light. The back explains that Rachel, Jean Grey and Cyclops’ daughter from another reality, took on the power of the Phoenix to make up for her mother’s deeds and her own. It also notes that Romita Jr. is known for his Amazing Spider-Man work and won the 2002 Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story. A great pickup for Phoenix and Rachel Summers collectors, classic X-Men cover fans and John Romita Jr. collectors.
Pull Odds: Not available in packs; earned only through an Upper Deck e-Pack achievement by combining ten digital cards. (The standard A Cosmic Journey insert is 1:5 hobby and e-Pack.)
A PSA Gem Mint 10 card is a virtually perfect card.
Attributes include four perfectly sharp corners, sharp focus and full original gloss. A PSA Gem Mint 10 card must be free of staining of any kind, but an allowance may be made for a slight printing imperfection, if it doesn't impair the overall appeal of the card. The image must be centered on the card within a tolerance not to exceed approximately 55/45 to 60/40 percent on the front, and 75/25 percent on the reverse.
