2021 Mark Spears Monsters Series 1 #80 Euryale Full Bleed
One of the legendary Gorgon sisters comes to life in this painting by Mark Spears. Euryale gazes out with a sly smile, her head crowned with a writhing mass of fanged snakes, her skin turning to green scales at the neck and below the waist, and a gleaming metallic top catching the light. She stands against a hazy, golden-brown sky, with the art running to the edges of the card and the red Mark Spears Monsters logo burst in the lower corner. The back has a red border with the classic monster lineup and spiderwebs across the top, and a bio on yellow that tells how Euryale and her sister Stheno are immortal, while their younger sister Medusa was slain by Perseus.
Pull Odds: This card is from the 86-card Full Bleed parallel, which features the same art as the base set extending to the edges of the card. A complete Full Bleed set was guaranteed in the Red Hobby Box.
Please note: Series 1 was Mark Spears’ first trading card release, funded on Kickstarter and inspired by classic 70s and 80s monster card sets, right down to the bubble gum in every pack. Mark Spears is a 5-time Rondo Hatton Horror Award nominee and was named 2020 Rondo Horror Artist of the Year.
